This beer, the oldest of the three Rochefort Trappist beers, has the reddish colour of autumn leaves, a soft body and an earthy, herbal palate (a hint of Darjeeling tea), which develops into a deep fruitiness.

A very good dark Belgian strong ale. It has a very nice aroma of dark fruits and caramel.

Dark caramel in colour with an off-white head. This is a Dubbel style beer with a malty, peppery honey aroma. The taste is not as creamy or robust as the 8 or 10, but it still holds its own with caramel, brown sugar, honey and vanilla mixed with the toasted malt and spices. There is very little aftertaste, but it leaves a carbonated warmth on your palate.

Jo jo igen en dejlig trappistøl - vil dog altid vælge så højt et nummer som muligt. 6'eren er den dårligste af disse bryg!

Totally different vs the blondes from Westvleteren and Westmalle, which are belgian hoppy pale ales, but not a dubbel either. This is a lighter version of the 8 and the 10 with the unmistakeable coriander notes of Rochefort. Aromas of coriander, spicy yeast, caramel, indian curry spice, bread, cereal. Flavors of coriander, banana, caramel, cereal, toast. Finish is semi-dry to dry. Good beer.

330ml bottle from Systembolaget. Almost clear, dark golden, large, fluffy, long lasting white head, rich lacing. Aroma: yeast, bread, caramel and grassy hops. Highly carbonated, fizzy and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet taste, honey, figs, clove, orange, tangerine, red apple. Finish with earthy hops and herbal notes.

Bottle 0,33l from supermarket. Aroma: caramel, malt fruit. I feel strawberries. Taste sweet, then some fruits and very, very, very mild hoppy end. Very good beer!

Adquirida en botella de 330 ml en New Beer Distributors, New York. Ale belga con un exquisito sabor dulce, frutal y caramelizado. Amarronada y espumosa. Muy buena cerveza. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Miedziane, mętne piwo o obfitej pianie, która redukuje się do pierścienia przy brzegu szkła. Aromat bardzo przyjemny owocowy, słodowy, toffi, ziołowy. W smaku owoce, toffi i chmiel. Goryczka średnia, przyjemna, krótka, szlachetna, ziołowa. Ogólnie bardzo dobre belgijskie piwo o pełni smaku i aromatu, warte spróbowania.

33cl bottle@home in Trappist glass@approx 8 degrees C. Pours slightly hazy orange with a large slightly off white head with medium retention ending in a layer of tiny bubbles. Aroma of malt and caramel malt with a certain earthiness. Taste again malty with apricot, caramel and unfortunately also a little metallic twang which thankfully disappears quickly. Effervescent but somewhat watery mouthfeel Alcohol well balanced and only warming in the slightly bitter, earthy aftertaste. The aftertaste is perhaps the best in this beer which was a little disappointing, considering that the Rochefort 10 is number rwo on my all time list. Not bad, but does not hold comparison with its stronger siblings.
