| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2008 Dark and cloudy red-brown with a thick creamy head. Smells wonderful; apples and toffee. Flavor is not as exciting, possibly because the carbonation gets in the way. Flavors are toffee, fig and roasted pecans. The apple comes back in the aftertaste, but only very faintly. The CO2 stings the tounge a bit. Not as good as the 8 and 10, but still decent. Syd (911), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2008 Bottle pours a quite hazy brown red with a quick to diminish white head leaving some lace, but not Belgian lace. The aroma is maple syrup, coffee, chocolate, just malty. The flavor is sort of like coffee, fig, slightly vinous, a lingering slight sour, and some coriander - pepper. Slightly smoky as it warms(?). The palate is very cleansing and middle of the spectrum rich. Overall, I like it well enough as it is nice to have a Trappistes without the sledge hammer ABV. joshwilfong (803), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2008 hazy dark brown with only a mild tan head. very nice flavor of caramal malt with hints of raisons, molasses, toffee. after-taste is a little peculiar, similar to the 8, it kind of leaves you slightly dissatisfied. neither the 6 or 8 compare to the 10 in my opinion. blutt59 (2186), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 2, 2008 Tried at PP bottle shop. Did a side-by-side of Rochefort 6 and Westy 6. They are different beers. One is a blonde, one is a dubbel, the comparison isn’t correct. I like Rochefort 6 better this time, but my memory of Westy 6 is better. Light amber color. Fruitier than Westy 6. Malty. Some caramelization. Nice. Sparky27 (1642), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2008 350ml bottle. Pours a very fizzy oxblood color with a 2 finger head that dies really fast. Nose is grapes and malt – almost smells like a watered down wine. Palate is grapes again, but I’m also getting apricots. Very wine like. Finishes dry. Watery mouth feel and zero lacing. Interesting brew. I prefer the 8 and 10 though.
