This beer, the oldest of the three Rochefort Trappist beers, has the reddish colour of autumn leaves, a soft body and an earthy, herbal palate (a hint of Darjeeling tea), which develops into a deep fruitiness.

330 ml pour from room-temperature bottle into tulip glass. Red-orange and fairly opaque. Huge fully, bubbly head. Great retention and lots of lacing. Fruity, caramel, and biscuit. Full bodied. Very nice mouthfeel. Taste is dark fruit, some deep caramel sweetness, creamy maltiness, some plum. A flavorful and layer beer. Delicious.

Bottiglia. Un bel colore ambrato, torbido, con schiuma abbondante non particolarmente persistente. Veramente una buona birra, dal sapore appagante. Apprezzabili note di caramello e frutta (tra cui anche banana). Buona carbonatazione, alcol ben ammortizzato.

Beautiful deep amber color, big off white head. Awesome retention. Aroma: Peach, tangerine, malts, citrus. Taste has all that plus red fruits, honey, chestnut, lots of yeast, raisins, bubblegum and even banana. Very complex. Medium to full body, lively carbonation. Insanely smooth. Awesome!
