COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer, the oldest of the three Rochefort Trappist beers, has the reddish colour of autumn leaves, a soft body and an earthy, herbal palate (a hint of Darjeeling tea), which develops into a deep fruitiness.

11.2 oz bottle into glass. Minneapolis. Aged - (2 years?) exp date 280114 Appearance: Dark murky brown with amber hue. Small sustaining off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma: Dark fruits, Apple, grains, dark almost chocolately flavor. I do taste the tea-like flavor from the description. Taste: Dry upfront with a sweeter finish. Light alcohol in the aftertaste. Palate: Medium body. Good level of carbonation, which you really get up front. Long flavorful finish. Overall: Interesting to see how this beer ages. I’m tasting a lot of the flavors present in siblings like the 8, but more subtle. Fruit is very present. A nice beer.

Pours murky brown with a beautiful short-lived creamy beige foam. To me one of the most refreshing of the trappistes. Good medium carbonation and medium body. Nose is dark fruits and caramel. Taste fruity and lightly yeasty. - with thirst, Niklas
