COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer, the oldest of the three Rochefort Trappist beers, has the reddish colour of autumn leaves, a soft body and an earthy, herbal palate (a hint of Darjeeling tea), which develops into a deep fruitiness.

Lots of caramel and toffee, some dates and figs. Fairly sweet. No hops, not much yeasty flavor. Pretty simple and straightforward.

Clear amber orange with a tall off-white head. Smells like caramel, strawberry jam, dried fruit, flowers. The taste follows the same notes, sweet and mildly bitter. Smooth mouthfeel and a sticky sweet aftertaste.

Sehr trocken. Spritzig prickelnd, fast wie ein Blondes. Klar, ein bisschen süßlich. Irgenwie aber auch "künstlich". Der Querulant sozusagen :). Zwischen den Stühlen das "tripelige Dubbel";). Kleine Flasche von Carefour aus Belgien ca. 1-1,50Euro.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2016 Robe miel foncé. Carbonatation longue. Bière posée sur une longueur équilibrée. Alcool présent mais très bien maîtrisée. Amertume très ronde. Agréable sur toute la dégustation. Des notes de pain, de noix, sucre candy. Une grande bière !
