Bottle (1 yr old): Hazed oarngy amber hue with soft frothy off-white head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of carmelized malts, dark bread, cashew, ripe apricot, light spice, and earthy yeast esters. The taste starts malty sweet but not overdone. Undertones of mild fruit and bitterness. Finishes with a subdued spice, nutty and yeast nature. The feel is lively, smooth, and dry. Overall it is a pleasing drink with good character, nothing as big and bold as it’s big brothers, but works all the same.

Sep 3, 2008 Light chestnut with golden highlights and a thin, off-white head. Odd, though not unpleasant Tequila-like edge (strange, yes, but it’s there in this bottle) with some nutty malt characteristics and a touch of alcohol. Interesting fermentation characteristics in the flavor that seems to impart a salty tang over a light, nutty malt profile. The body is very light, thin, and almost watery--though not negatively so--the 7.5% alcohol is hardly noticible which is quite a disappearing act. This beer is not really my thing but remains quite interesting nonetheless.

Pours a light clear brown/red colour.
Beautiful head, good size and lasts.
Smells gives away loads of fruits, varying from strawberrys to lemon.
Very mouthfilling beer, good taste, can find all the fruits that are in the smell again.
Also this beer is balanced excellent, tastes like the 8 and 10 Rochefort, but just a little less flavour to it.
Though I must say that I can taste the alcohol more than in the other 2.

Aug 31, 2008 33cl bottle, pours apple cider brown, with dissipating off-white head. Aroma of apple, pear, flowers, caramel, and malt. Taste is fruity and malty, with minimal hops. Creamy mouthfeel. Not quite Rochefort 8 or 10, but a very good beer.

Aug 30, 2008 Pours fecal brown with minimal head. Smells strongly of assorted fruits and malts. Very sweet taste, well balanced with good carbonation. Delicious lingering yeast and malts. Very easy to drink, but could use more of an alcohol punch.

Aug 27, 2008 Pours a cloudy brown color with virtually no head. Very pleasant sweet aroma. Tastes of caramel and fruit. Slighty bitter finish.
