3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 mL bottle. Pours hazy mahogany with a murky off white cap, leaves no lacing surprisingly. Rich aromas of bready malt, a hint of cocoa, dried fig, raisin. Slightly sweet balanced by moderate to high carbonation and a hint of alcohol. Luxurious texture, but not heavy at all. Do let this warm up before enjoying.

Makes an excellent contrast to Imperial IPAs. Rich, full bodied, and deceptively strong. Which is the problem - albeit the ’only’ one. An absolutely superb beer...

Amarga y de aroma no muy agradable. Se deja beber y tiene un sabor a fruta seca. Buena al paladar

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy orange brown. Aroma is same as Rochester extrapolated 6 but mellowed. Taste follows nose with nice carbonation and a creamy feel.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle @ home. Pours with a brown hazy colour, large, long-lasting off-white frothy head. Aroma is medium malty, with notes of bread and chocolate, little hoppy, with notes of herbs, and medium yeasty, with notes of basement aromas and earth; additional notes of fruit, wood and alcohol (even though it is well hidden). Taste is medium sweet, little bitter, little sour, little salty. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Huge sediment!

Finally picked up this one, love the raisin, date, almost whiskey rich aroma, sweet rich body with a nice balanced finish, a bit high carb for me, but awesome!

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This doesn’t taste over 9 per cent! I’d have guessed at 7.5. Lovely bready, malty aroma, taste similar. I know this is an all time classic but it doesn’t really do it for me. Dark dried fruit, sherry vibe.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pour dark copper. Nose sweet malt and hint of fruit. Taste similar. Slight alcohol boozy, but balanced by the sweet. Booziness wears off as it warms up in the glass then flavors come through. Tasted side by side with 6, 8, and 10.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
33 cl bottle. Mostly clear dark copper, creamy lasting tan head slowly settles. Fruity spicy yeastiness, sweet chocolate aroma. Luscious dark fruits, sweet light chocolate malt taste, toffee and spice, vinous and sherry-like. Well carbonated, medium-full bodied, moderately hopped. Warming, subdued ABV, definitely one to savor, and DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys), though every beer enthusiast should sample this elite brew at some point on their journey.
