COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The lower gravity cousin to Rochefort 10. Nicknamed "Spéciale" (’The Special’), this beer is the most recent production. The Rochefort 8 has a more tawny colour and a more pronounced aroma, with an even richer fruitiness (a slight undertone of fig?) and a little more spiced dryness, like that of a cake, which gives a balanced finish to the final notes.

Visual marrom escuro e floculada. Aroma alcoolico, nozes. Cerveja complexa, licorosa, variedade de sabores, toffe, caramelo. Alcóol bastante presente, preenche o paladar completamente.

Smakt hjemme i ølglass. Flott balanse mellom fylde og bitterhet. Kamuflerer alkohol styrken godt. Et godt øl.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 18E). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 15:32:21 AROMA: spicy alcohol aroma with notes of dried cherries, supported by a caramelised sweet malt note. APPEARANCE: light brown color and hazy. average moussy, beige head with good retantion and lacing. TASTE: similar to the aromas but less pronunced. spicy notes, some caramel and dried cherries and faint figs. low bitterness with a sweet finish. PALATE: high carbonation with medium-light body. alcohol warmth noticeable. OVERALL: a less intense autentic trappist ale.

This is a great beer. This one today extra yeast floating. It also had a lot of foam. It was still very tasty ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A deep copper coloured pour with a thick cream head that falls back to a tight layer; the aroma has vinous fruits, soft brown sugar, and Belgian yeast; it’s quite light in the mouth with some soft carbonation on the tongue, and some raisins and demerara sugar; a a touch of spicy dryness, before a gentle warmth emerges to give a pleasantly rounded finish. A well balanced, well made, ale.
