Allright. 50th beer!! Bought this at Kardstat in Bremen, Germany just for this;)....2.79 euros though whoa! but well worth it. Talk about racking ones brain. Was drinking this while listening to a Guided by Voices. phew! Nice big murky brown body. Nice creamy head. Flavours that hit you are roasted coffee, chocolate, some nasal opening aromatic taste....(did they pour Amol into this too? It would explain the peppermint taste/aroma) Aftertaste carries a plum and a bit of a citrus hint? Nice alchohol hit in the head. Had me buzzin. Cant wait to try the 10...

Aug 29, 2008 Pours a murky brown color with a foamy tan head. Aroma of fruits and malt. Tastes of fruit, spice, malt with a bit of alcohol in the finish.

Aug 28, 2008 Had this beer many times, this stuff just keeps amazing me. Pours very deep dark brown, like dark chocolate, with a creamy beige head. Aroma is imo the only "flaw", it could have been stronger. Subtle aroma of dark fruits, mostly malts and dark chocolate, some alcohol. Flavour is soft, malts, lots of dark chocolate, some dark fruits and a bit of alcohol. The beauty of this beer is that you don’t have to work your way through a load of sugary sweetness like with so many other dark strong ales. Soft and creamy mouthfeel, nice lingering finish, full bodied.

Aug 25, 2008 Well balanced and very complex taste of raisen and caramel. A little too much carbonation for my taste, but that is the style.

Aug 25, 2008 330 mL bottle. Pours red brown with a small white head. Aromas of dark fruits, caramel, hint of alcohol. Flavor is a combination of caramel and dark fruit with touches of black licorice, bread, hops, and apple. Raisin finish. Excellent flavor profile, very enjoyable. A little better than my recollection of Rochefort 10.
