The lower gravity cousin to Rochefort 10. Nicknamed "Spéciale" (’The Special’), this beer is the most recent production. The Rochefort 8 has a more tawny colour and a more pronounced aroma, with an even richer fruitiness (a slight undertone of fig?) and a little more spiced dryness, like that of a cake, which gives a balanced finish to the final notes.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2016 Pours deep brown with a off white head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits, plum, light liquorice, belgian yeast, raisins, light sugary feel.

A clear copper-colored body with a large, well-lasting light brown head. Nose has sweet aromas of raisins, prunes, caramel, honey, vanilla and spicy yeast phenols. Taste is quite sweet with a somewhat harsh bitterness that lingers on the tongue. Very high carbonation and thanks to that, a fairly light mouthfeel. Well hidden alcohol with a pleasant slowly unfolding warmth. Extremely well balanced beer with lots of aromas and depth.

Completely opaque, dark ruby red, sort of muddy-looking; fizzy head that disappears relatively quickly, but the carbonation is really pretty. Scent is wonderfully complex - lots of dark fruit, fig, currant, cherry, nutmeg. Taste is also rich in dark fruit, caramel, a bit of gingerbread spice. Overall, the Rochefort 10 strikes me as slightly more fruity and tannic, whereas the Rochefort 8’s spicy characteristics are a bit more pronounced. What a treat these beers are.

Good beer, almost on the edge of tasting too artificial. But good mouthfeel and great aftertaste, almost like a dessertwine. Yet it misses the wow of a great ipa.

Bottle. In the beginning nice, head with small bubbles but very unstable. Brown colour of the beer. THe aroma is very fruity, ester, very sweet with notes of plums, cherries and raisins. The flavour is malty-fruity, with dry finish. The alcohol a little warms the throath.

Brown color. High carbonation. Surpringly light malty and yeast aroma with some chocolate notes. Rich caramel flavor, milk chocolate, some spicy phenols, a bit fruity. Very smooth and sweet, but not overly so. Good beer.

Superb. Beercraft at its finest. Bread, floral, grass, herbs, cheese, raisin. Brown, hazy body, frothy, tan head. Lightly sweet and sour, medium bitter. Amazing! Full body, thick feel. Average carbonation, abrupt finish.

Poured from a 11.2 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance is a hazy brown with a brief tan head that dissipates with no lacing at all. Nose is a wonderful blend of caramel, fruits and a little hint of chocolate. Medium body with lively carbonation. Very complex, medium sweetness, lightly bitter. Long finish starts sweet and ends with a little bitter. Very nice!

dark chocolate-brown beer and cloudy. Significant level of carbonation, as happens to many of the beers of the genre. Crown comprehensive and lasting foam, which helps to carbon despite the high alcohol content. Leaves traces defined as rings attached to glass. sweet and fruity aroma. Notes jujube, fig and prune, on background of roasted malt, freshly baked bread, nuts and caramel. sidebars fainter chocolate and coffee. Body medium-high pulling robust

Chocolate and smoke taste. Impressive combination, most of the team very surprised because of dark colour ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
