Strangely medicinal. Didnít really feel I could enjoy these odd flavors if I had more than one. Complex, but not as good as the 10.

Alcohol and dark fruits dominate the aroma of this wonderful ale and pair up nicely with its dark, strong looking appearance. Chocolate, cherry, toffee, vanilla and alcohol all intermingle beautifully on the tounge. While this beer finishes dry enough to warrant another, its strength makes it unnecessary.

A good Belgian strong, but not quite what I expected or hoped for. The flavor and aroma are very unique, but lack in strength, in my opinion. Greater emphasis in both these areas might take this beer from very good to great.

Overall this is a good brew. The attack is similar to the 10 but I picked up way too much metallic taste in this one. Go for the 10

The colour falls somewhere between tan and cloudy copper. Powerful aromas of red licorice, alcohol, and spice. Caramal features prominently in the flavor profile, along with more licorice, wood, raisins, and other fruits. It has quite the heavy palate as well. A huge beer! Thanks Boutip.

Dark brown, nice lasting head. Aroma from cinnamon, coffee and cocoa. Fruity notes.
Flavor spicy at first, creamy and from chocolate that follows you to the finish.

Nice and hazy red-brown trappist with a good ivory colored creamy head. The aroma off this great authentic beer is complex fruity (ripe banana, dried apricots ans cinnamon)with a good touch off roasted malts. It is a fullbodied beer with a nice complex body,a round taste and a fine hoppyness in the end.

A heavy beer with an obvious alcohol presence which is not surprising when you consider its strength. Dark and inviting with a long lasting flavour. Cant wait to try the Rochefort 10!

Muddy brown with yeast colonies floating about in the murk. Fair off white colored head which left quickly. Outstandingly beautiful sheets of Belgian lace!
Aroma of dried fruits and sweet malt. No hint of alcohol here at all, light body from candi sugar.
Flavor is malt and light spice. Becomes slightly vinous as it warms.
