Bottled. Reddish brown color with very thick creamy head. Plums, figs, tart fruity esters, vanilla, peppery spiciness and chocolatey higher alcohols in the aroma. Woody licorice, caramel and munchener malt in the background. Sweet flavor balanced by warming alcohols. Chocolatey with some fruity tartness and caramel. Despite the high alcohol content, soft, mellow and very creamy palate with suprisingly light body. Warming, woody and caramelly finish.
This beer is heavy in warming alcohols,
but suprisingly, they deliver great complexity without any unpleasant tones.

Aug 21, 2008 Awesome dubble. This is dark and not as sweet as I thought it would be...more of a dark chocolate burnt carmel flavor. This is a very nice beer I would not mind having more of.

Aug 20, 2008 An amazing beer. Great color with light lacing. Smells great with low hop aroma. Warms you up nicely but not as much as the 10. Well worth drinking if you can’t get the 10 or are looking for something lighter.

Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. Much like the description says. It is almost identical to the Rochefort 10. Smells of fig and plum, maybe some apple. Very well balanced beer. Better then the 6 weaker then the 10. Still a great beer and a must try.

Aug 19, 2008 Had this in Gent Belgium. The aroma of this beer is very interesting. lots of dark fruits as well as some banana and other spices. The Flavor is similar to the aroma. very fruity but well balanced, This is one of my favorite beers and I always keep a bottle or 2 at home.

Aug 16, 2008 I drank this one too fast with my PBnJ, I know that it had notes of candied fruits, baking spices and more..., appearance was perfect with a fine soapy head that lasted for quite some time, dark reddish brown body and fine effers, flavor was awesome with my sandwich, balanced with the peanut butter and marmelade, LOL... palate, creamy, oilly and tickley on the tongue... I’m going to have another one, and savor it the next time ;>)
