Had from tap at local pub. Not overpowering aromatics. Appearance amber and cloudy, but very nice. Palate is slightly hoppy, not overpowering, slight floral and overall Good, but not spectacular.

"i don’t know what "assertively balanced" means, but this ipa needs a touch more hops to fot the bill. the aroma is almost all malt, the flavor/finish a touch bitter at the end. maybe a balanced pale ale, but not enough for an IPA."

16 ounce can into pint glass, best before 12/6/2014. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around god complexity and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

16oz can (retrieved from 08/2013 Midwest jpg backlog, bought in Traverse City/MI). Tasted like an industrial UK IPA, heavy on rougher caramel-tinged orange marmelade, invaded by a more unsubtle registry of conifer resins. Bit of abv, else clean but no fireworks.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The Rochester Mills IPA pours a dark orange with a thick beige head that lasts a good while. The aroma is pine and caramel. The flavor is pine, floral, toast and caramel. Overall this is a pretty good beer.

Second time having my first time IPA and I'm sold. Great amber color, decent aroma (wife thinks it stinks lol ), and loving the taste.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This was courtesy of a trade from Strykzone .Thanks Dave. Poured a dark amber color with a beige head. Lots of lacing. Nose is caramel malts and citrus hops. The body is medium plus and the mouth feel is resinous. Flavor is quite biter with lots citrus and some fruit as well. Long bitter finish. Very good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reviewed from notes.
I poured this into a pint glass.
The appearance is a nice light golden yellow to orange color with a decent one to two fingers worth of foamy white head that ended up dieing at a decent pace. Carbonation is seen rising in the body.
The smell had bitter piney yet also some citrus hops enabling a decent malt bill to eventually come out to combine pretty nicely.
The taste was bitter and sweet that tried to be at the same time but ended up missing each other here and there.
On the palate, it sat fairly light and had a decent sessionable quality to it. The carbonation is there for an AIPA as there’s enough pummeling harshness running about it.
Overall, I say this was a good AIPA that I could have again.

can. Amber with two finger head. Fairly strong malt body. Hops are bitter, but not particularly flavorful. There’s an odd metallic flavor here that really turns me off.

On draught at Dan’s. The pour is a clear amber-ish gold with a nice white head and some good lacing. The aroma is pretty lacking. There is a decent grassy hop dominance, if you can call it that, and some piney and malty undertones. The flavor is mostly something like a sweet bitterness (oxymoron I know). The maltiness adds a a flavor that’s both intriguing and strange. The mouth feel is a little thin, but the flavors cling and linger nicely
