COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is not as bitter as the Sacri-licious Stout. It is brewed with milk sugar(lactose) to impart a fuller body and sweeter palate.

No canning date -- poured into a shaker pint. Appearance: Pours pitch black with a very short lived tan head. Patchy lacing at best. Pretty much no bubbles in the beer that I can see after a few minutes. Meh. Smell: Super metallic... I figured it may be my glass, but it smelled the same out of the can. I try to get other aromas out of it, but the metal smell is dominating everything else. There’s a really, REALLY subtle chocolate sort of aroma in there as well, but it’s way in the background. Doesn’t smell awful (outside of the blood smell), but it doesn’t exactly smell good, either. Taste/feel: Really, same as the smell. Not much to taste beer. A mild metallic after taste, not much going on on the front of each sip... really quite bland. Back of the throat has a pleasant roastiness. There’s some chocolate on top of the roasted malts, but it’s really subdued. The feel on this one is the best part of the beer -- it’s not super thick, but has a pleasant creaminess, with light carbonation. Disappointed. I have to think that this can was old... which would be kind of confusing, considering I live only about 20 minutes or so from the brewery. It’s not an awful, undrinkable stout, but there’s nothing about it that stands out. It isn’t sweet like a milkshake, it doesn’t taste like a milkshake, it doesn’t feel like a milkshake. The name "milkshake stout" is misleading, as it tastes like nothing more than a plain old stout -- with a metallic note in the aroma and taste. Might try it again on tap, but not out of a can again.

Can. Pours dirty motor oil black with a reddish halo when held to to the light. Very small head but strong lacing. Aroma is not as strong as I would expect, faint sweetness and chocolate milk. Flavor is big and sweet molasses on the onset, followed by a very strong malt character of bitter chocolate and burnt toast. There are grassy hops in the finish. Rich and sweet, this. Would be excellent with a brownie or chocolate cake. Thanks, mikem409.

Taster on tap at HopCat in East Lansing. Dark brown color. Slightly red. Thin khaki head, leaves good lace. Medium-plus body. Crisp, lighter carbonation. Good darker chocolate, light oat, some lactose milk sugar, bit of roast. Nice balance in the malt profile. Moderate bitter, light sweet. Good milk stout, more my style. Satisfying amount of bitter. Good balance to it.

On tap at Rochester Mill’s. Black beer. Has a sweet, creamy flavor and goes down smooth. Probably my favorite at the Mill’s.

Bottle at Goodfellow’s, Mackinaw Island, Michigan, poured a deep black , no head. Nose is chocolate , malt and coffee. Taste is chocolate, with hints of vanilla, and sweetened nicely. Finish is sweet as well, and ends on the same tasting notes. Quaff Score 8 / 10

At Goodfellow’s on Mackinac Island. Pours black with a tan head and aroma of roasted malt and creamy cocoa. Taste is sweet and creamy, of cocoa, roasted malt, and milk chocolate with a sweet, creamy finish. Solid, enjoyable stout
