3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour from a 16 oz can. Deep black brew - held up to a light you can see that it is clear. Tan head that soon fades. Low carbonation. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, a little chocolate, Taste is sweet with roasted grain and hints of chocolate. Clean finsih with a little bitter and the burnt grain flavor coming forward. Rather thin palate that works in this case. Very good!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep brown with thick tan head and light lacing. Aroma of caramel, condensed milk, chocolate, roasted malt, and moist dates. Flavor matches well and makes for a pretty enjoyable brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2014 Sweeter and frothier than most stouts. Flavors of sweet cream, toast and mild coffee with light caramel and moderate bitterness. A bit lighter than expected but easy to drink.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Pours near black with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has roasted malts with some lactose sweetness and a hint of chocolate. Flavor is similar with chocolate and roasted malt with lactose coming out in the finish.

not much in the way of aroma, flavor is lactic and chocolate.has a pleasant creamy mouthfeel.the basics are here for this beer.needs a little improvement on aroma and perhaps a little bitterness in the finish.its average right now but has potential with tweaking.

For all those people that rank the aroma low, I offer these kind words: "it smells better than a hooker’s chocolate starfish at the end of her shift."

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the brewpub. Deep opaque brown body, thin tight beige head. Rich roasty nose with cocoa and woody acidity. Roasty body with light lactic sweetness and a woody, acidic bite in the finish. Subtle sweetness but it enhances an average stout.

Bottle. The aroma is a little malty, but not getting much more out of it than that. The taste is decent for a stout, but not very complex and a little thinner than I like my stouts to be. Can taste a little bit of the milk and has a nice sweetness to it.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, roasted malt, smoked malt, and a hint of lactose. Flavor of lactose with bitter chocolate, also there is sort of an odd tartness. A decent stout but odd tasting and the lactose and chocolate malt flavors did not quite come together.
