Bomber in Johnson, VT. Very nice. Murky orange pour, small white head (disappears fast). Bitter grassy aroma and the flavor is much the same, lots of grassy hops, a very dry, astringent, very bitter finish.

Pours a slightly hazed deep amber into a tulip. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Sweet caramel and resin aromas. Sweet caramel and nutty bread from front to back with a sweet, lasting resin finish.

The best rating I can give this beer is below average. I am not a fan of Rock Art. In fact I have never had a beer from them that I’ve really enjoyed, but yet I still gave it a try. An not suprisingly, it was bad. A bitter, unbalanced IPA. Hop taste was so far off that I didn’t really even want to finish it.

Hazy caramel with a white head. Sweet malts, molasses, piney and citrus hops in the aroma. Big, chewy caramel malts, pine, citrus, toasted malt, bread, too. It is a big beer, no doubt. But, it is not one of those un-approachable beers, either. While I wouldn’t say it stands out from the world of good DIPAs, it is one of the good ones.

Got this is a trade, thanks trading world for spreading the love. Poured a deep amber, chunky head. Smell was a sweet toffee malt, with a little hop bitterness on the end. Taste was that east coast IPA, mostly sweet malty tones, but then evens out in the middle and you get some piney hops. This is very drinkable for 8%. Not to generalize, but I just tend to like the west coast IPA, fruity and piney, unlike the east coast IPA, malt dominated.

Big piney sweet presence here with some brown sugar tobacco earthyness in the smell as well. Flavor is toffee sweetness to start and an alcoholic aspirin bitterness to finish. Very uneven and clumsy in the way that there is no transition there. Great sticky, hefty mouthfeel for the style that just builds thirst as you go. Good Dipa, great value (5 bucks for 22 sticky ounces). Thank You Rock Art. 2010 22oz.

A nice little BIG IPA. Hops are defined with a luscious malt backbone that brings a sense of creaminess to the palate.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very sweet nose with plenty of toffee covered by woody, citrus hops withan undercurrent of cat pee. Opaque tan body is topped by a low off white head that recedes rapidly to a partial cover. Although there is plenty of hop character it barely conceals the sticky sweetness. Alcohol is apparent in the backend. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Chalice. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle shared with presario.
