COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black Moon is a limited-batch beer collaboratively crafted by Rock Art Brewery and Hunger Mountain Coop. Inspired by the private, intimate and richly renewing time when the moon is dark in the sky. Black Moon processes an alluring darkness brimming with possibility. Black Moon is a deep, dark, highly hopped offering whose roasted malts subtly eclipse its bright hop notes, creating a unique full-flavored beer that can be enjoyed throughout the year, savored in moments of solitude or among close friends

Pours a three finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Black color, no highlights, ton of yeast left in bottle. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Slight grapefruit nose, flavor is grapefruit and hints of caramel, some lingering bitter aftertaste. Decent DIPA. $5.49 for a 22oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

Pours black with a thin mocha head. Aroma has mild alcohol and burnt/roasty malt notes. Flavor is hoppy and doughy...mild burnt malty note. Mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish is mildly burnt.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a creamy tan head that settled to a ring and left good lace. Aroma of floral and pine with a light malt backing. The flavor found floral, light pine, and light roast. Medium body and medium bitterness.

Gift from boss! Who doesn’t remember giving it to me. Must have been bottled at least a year ago. 22oz brown glass crown cap. Served well chilled in a tulip. Very dark brown with red hints. Fluffy, very light brown clay-colored head. Barnyard brownies, menthol, mild coffee, and dried fruits and grass waft forth challengingly. Only first sip shows booze. Wonderful earthy creamy texture. Flavors of coffee-cookie, mild basilly thing is very cool, a little Spanish brandy and toffee. Very good hoppy dark ale blurs the line between strong porter and IPA. Great with tangy feta, tomato, fresh thyme, black pepper, olive oil salad. Also the best looking label of any Rock Art beer I’ve seen.

Dark brown with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, pine, light roast, citrus, and light alcohol. Taste of citrus, pine, tobacco, roast, grapefruit, and light alcohol in the finish.

22 oz. brown bottle. Basically a black beer with a large head. Nice retention. The aroma is piney up front and resiny with a background of roast. The taste is sweet with lots of caramel, roast and a moderate level of bitterness in the end. A decent beer and would like to try a guaranteed fresh bottle.

Bottle shared by Jcwattsrugger. Pours black. Tan head. Nose/taste of pineapple, cocoa powder, baker’s chocolate, pine and hops. Some black licorice in taste as it warms. Finishes dry and almost piny. Medium body. Mild chalky ash as it gets warmer.

22 oz bottle purchased from the brewery in Morrisville (IIRC). Smell is actually tremendous - much more hops than i was expecting. Pours opaque with a fast-fading tan head. Looks like a porter. As it warms (and is poured out of the bottle), it smells of a lot of malt - very smoky, some roasted black coffee in it. Hops are pretty subdued. Almost tastes like an extra-hopped porter. Very good.
