COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black Moon is a limited-batch beer collaboratively crafted by Rock Art Brewery and Hunger Mountain Coop. Inspired by the private, intimate and richly renewing time when the moon is dark in the sky. Black Moon processes an alluring darkness brimming with possibility. Black Moon is a deep, dark, highly hopped offering whose roasted malts subtly eclipse its bright hop notes, creating a unique full-flavored beer that can be enjoyed throughout the year, savored in moments of solitude or among close friends

Bomber from Winooski.
Appearance : Deep black with foamy brown head. Lots of lacing.
Aroma : Roasted malt with resinous hops. A bit citrusy and piny. Nice chocolate.
Taste : Nice roasted malt with some chocolate and coffee. Roasty finish with piny and resinous hops. Quite a lot of coffee. Finish is a bit astringent. Light alcohol too.
Overall : Nice elements, nice chocolate and coffee. Nice hops. Light astringency. Not a huge fan of Black IPA and I tend to be quite critical about them.

22 oz bottle purchased at Table and Vine in West Springfield, MA. Poured into a shaker. Nearly black/ deep brown, brown hues on the edges. Smells of chocolate, Pine resin, molasses, and a light licorice note. Rich flavor with roasted malts and medium bitter with the faint hint of hops in the profile. Good amount of pine hops as it warms. Nicely thick palate causes a lingering of the flavors on the tongue. Dry hop finish. Good flavors, if you like this style, it’s well worth a try. If you can find a bottle.

Bottle… Murky dark brown ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. The bouquet includes chocolate and acidic red wine. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor is bitter, bitter, bitter – big time hops and charcoal. Finishes bitter and acrid.

22 oz bottle purchased at the Rock Art Brewery. Pours black with a thick creamy mocha colored head. Pine aroma with roasted malt in the background. Flavor starts out with a strong punch of hops then levels out a bit with some bitter bakers chocolate and some char. Heavy in the mouth lightened with active carbonation. Very good.

22 oz bomber purchased in a grocery store in Brattleboro, VT. Pours a black cola with a medium sized tan-light brown head. Aroma of piney notes, roasted malts, citrus and hops. Taste of piney roasted malts, hops, citrus, black licorice and tootsie rolls. Very nice stuff.

22oz Bomber Wet grassy aroma over deep oil colored body. Pretty full body with serious hop bite to finish. Pretty good sipping beer.

Bottle courtesy of imagineiii. Served in a Bruery tulip. Pours near black with an off-white head and some spotty lacing as it goes down. The nose is a bit plain with some woody characteristics and a bit of dryness. There is a bit of a perfume-like character there as well, perhaps from some floral-forward hops. The flavor has a lot of roast plus some pine and more of the perfume notes. Feel is brought down by this, as it almost seems like someone sprayed perfume way too close to my face right before I inhaled. Overall, this was pretty good, though nothing out of the ordinary.
