"Grab your darts and let's go!" This is a dark ruby red porter with a medium body. A slight hint of smoke is detected from a small portion of grains used that are smoked with beechwood. Pale, chocolate, black and crystal grains are also used with Northern Brewer and East Kent Golding hops.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle in Stowe, VT. Nearly opaque cola color with small tan head and fair lacing. Aroma of dark malt, cola, nuts, bacon and charcoal. Taste of wet cardboard, caramel, toffee, bacon, bad deli meats and smoke. Quite awful! Medium/full body and medium/low carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a very dark red, just about black. There is a small, off-white head which recedes pretty quickly, and doesn’t leave much lacing. The biggest aromas I can find in this beer are roasted malt, coffee and smoke (of course). The flavors in Midnight Madness are very similar to the aromas. Smoke, coffee, chocolate and roasted malt dominate the palate. The beer is a bit thin, which aids in it’s drinkability. I also found that this beer had a higher than average carbonation. This was a pretty tasty brew. Not going to blow you away (unless you don’t like smokey beers), but a good beer to relax and sit back with.

Decent. Pours reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity malts and light smoke. Light bodied, flows easy, slightly medicinal finish.

Slightly sweet, with a presence of smoke in the aroma. Pours a very dark ruby red, with just a dusting of light tan head. The flavor is roasted with a lingering smoke finish. The smoke isn’t overpowering, and nicely accentuates the flavor of the porter. The body is a bit thin, with it being easy drinking. If you like smoked beers, this is a nice one to try, it could also work as an introduction to the style for those who have never tried it.

Pours a one finger light brown head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Deep brown with faint ruby highlights, ton of yeast left in bottle. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Smoky nose and flavor is more smoke than any thing else, hints of coffee. $1.65 for a 12oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, anise, licorice, coffee, nuts and a lot of alcohol. Medium-bodied; Strong anise flavour with a lot of roasted malt, coffee, nuts and a touch of soy sauce and permanent marker - no smoked notes at all, just a deep burn and strong licorice flavour. Aftertaste deep and strong with the roasted malt, burnt coffee beans (a la *$) alcohol and anise flavours dominating with a touch of decent camalised sugars on the back end. Overall, a strong and rather underwhelming beer, but it has a lot of flavour - just not great flavours, especially for this style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 27-November-2011 for US$7.95/6pack, sampled at home in Upstate New York on 25-May-2012.

A clear brown porter with no head. In aroma, a strange beany chocolate, a bit off and unpleasant. In mouth, a smooth peaty chocolate with light acidity lingering, watery and boring. On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill, April 7, 2012.
