2008 version, thanks to Alldaydrinker. Just couldn’t get into this one. A mess to me. Poured a murky brown, with dirty looking head. Smell was funky, malts and kinda reminded me of olives! yea olives! Taste is bold, carmel, molasses and smokey malts. Kinda ashy and a sour finish. Not so tasty.

2009 bottle. Pours a reddish brown color with a big foamy egg shell color that stays forever...nose is very sweet and cranberryish with some light toasty malt hints in the background. Palate is smooth and fluffy. Flavors of light nuts and a sweet, tangy berry note as well. Biscuity malts and very refreshing.

BOMBER 2009, pours a dark brune body with a yellow off white head. Light malty body, toasted malt, some light caramel and bitter roasted malt tones. A very mineral and dry coco body with a bitter finish. A nice session ale. I like what the previous review said about olives, i can see where hes going when your first have in in your mouth its bitter and tart like and olive. Now i want olives. Mmm. Good stuff.

22oz bottle-pours a light tan head with dark amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt, sour fruit. Taste is light/medium malt, sour fruit hops. Towards medium body. Better @cellar temp, so rated it then.

Nose is sweet, malty, chocolatey, fruity. Very pleasant. The color is a deep red/brown, off-white head. The flavor is chocolate, raisin, plums. Themouthfeel is a little on the thick side of medium. The finish is sweet, with a slight component of hop bitterness, like nobel hops. Decent. I enjoyed this more than other ratebeerians, obviously.

2008 bottle. Deep brown beer. Thin head. Aroma is quite herbal and woody. Toasty and sweet. A bit of light amber malt. Sweet and a little bit spicy. Herbal and a bit toasty. Very strange and slightly oxidized. Weird brew.

Brown 22oz bottle. 2008 release. Appearance: Slightly cloudy tawny hue with orange notes around the edges. Head is slight with off-white bubbles gripping the edge of the glass, no lacing, and not much on the surface. Nose: Roasted grain, toasted oak, raw sugar, chocolate caramel, and something hinting at toffee. Palate: Soft carbonation, a creamy smooth texture. Right at the back, you can tell it’s a lager, has a little tiny bite right before the finish. Notes of caramelized sugar, toffee, and creme brulée. Clean finish. Notes: A solid brew. You get what it says: Creamy Bock Lager. A bit creamy on the texture, a bit lager on the finish, and a perfect "session" winter/holiday ale. I appreciate that it’s not a spiced winter release. Cheers to Matt and René!
