Pours deep brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma is lightly roasty with hints of dark fruit...mild pumpkin but not much spruce. Flavor has plenty of spruce, some tea notes, and very roasty malts. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is lingering and burnt.

This beer was worth trying, it is far from a standard pumpking beer with extensive spruce addition and little else to offer. The beer is worthy trying, but seems more like a novelty save the opportunity for a gin lover’s beer to shine.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Malty and sprucy nose with some grassy hops and a bit of a vegetal character. Chocolate malt flavor with a bit of fruit before a sprucey and grassy hop finish.

This is a big thanks to mcox90. Pours deep deep brown the head is large bubbled and fades quickly to nothing. Nose really let’s the spruce come out with big pines, herbal notes, purfume, potpourri, roast, and sweet malts-also some piney herbal hop aromas mixed in. Flavor lends the same only a very intense pronounced piney herbal resinous flavor along with fruity and sweet sugary malt flavors. Medium full body. really really interesting twist. liked it but hard to drink the whole thing.

Pours a two finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Opaque brown color, some yeast left in bottle. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Spruce nose. Brewer is right - nothing like pumpkin pie, spruce (there’s a whole forest here) adds the bitterness, malts are in background, not finding much pumpkin. $4.54 for a 22oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

Bottle share at Paul’s. The aroma is chocolate, brown sugar, pine. The appearance is translucent brown, tan head. The flavor is chocolate, brown sugar, pine needles. The finish is pine needles. Medium to medium/thick in body. Good.

Bottle shared at Paul’s Dec 3rd tasting. Pours a deep murky brown body with thin lacing. Aroma is pumpkin spice and chocolate. Mouthfeel is nice with notes of spice, roasted malts, chocolate, spruce.

Bottle at Paul’s tasting. Pours a ruby tinged mahogany with a thin white head. Spices, dark malt, coffee and a hint of roast. Dark sweet malt, earthy notes. Malt on the finish, a bit more spice and roast. Nice enough.
