3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep amber with a tan loosely knit head. Aroma is of Light pine and a hdgepodge of malts, nothing really defines the aroma. The body is awefully light for the style. The Flavors are again a hodgepodge of biscuits, cookies and grapefruit but nothing really takes charge to define the beer. Finishes fairly dry but certainly no heat. Not a bad beer per se, but unfortunately due to alcohol limits in VT, this just canít be considered a barleywine, a descent American Strong Ale but not Barleywine.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the12 fl. oz bottle. Looks like it expires in June 2019. Brown pour with reddish hues. Not much head. The aroma has a sweet roasted barley malt character with a hint of dark fruit. The body is light to medium. The taste is sweet and malty with a mild bitterness at the end. Not as pungent and biting as most Barleywines but easy enough to drink as a stand alone.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Sweet grape and caramel aroma. Sweet taste with spicy undertones throughout. Not as bad as the score led me to think it would be. Not bad.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft sample at the source. Poured a clear amber color, tiny bubbly tan head. Aroma or caramel, sweet malts. Flavor had some toffee and caramel. Very light and thin for a baley wine. Soft carbonation, smooth finish. More of an amber feel to me than barley wine.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This was poured into a chalice.
The appearance was a dark hazy amber color with a slim quarter fingerís worth of white foamy head that dissipated within seconds.
The smell starts off with a semi-sweet cooked caramel malt trying to blend with light vanilla and herbal/tea-like qualities running over some light cooked cocoa tones.
The taste pretty much copies the aroma decently. Thereís no aftertaste but it does have a slight smooth semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation hits just a tad harder than other Barleywines Iíve had.
Overall, mostly average barleywine with a mouthfeel that probably could be tamed a tad more.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sample at Rock Art, very clear amber color, fast dying head. Aroma is stale English malts, caramel, mild toffee and house yeast. The flavor is much the same. Very mild example of a barely wine. Well, it did start over 10 years ago...

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Taster at the source. Four beers into an 8 beer flight and the best thing on my flight board so far is the oyster crackers. Aroma is caramel, Robotussin. Starts watery and sugary sweet, then finishes with straight up bitter. I hope it gets better from here.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Lisaiís. Amber with ring and lace. Mild aroma of woody hops and caramel brown sugar and fruitcake. Burnt caramel and and some tangy fruity sweetness with medium bitter woody and herbal bitterness. Fairly dry (a little cold). Medium body. Not a bad beer, but I wouldnít call it a barley wine. Definitely a better IPA than Long Trailís new Sick Day. Very good, but points off for style because if people came looking for a barley wine, I would not really recommend this one.
