3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle... Clear ruby ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is of a sweet, Brooklyn, NY chocolate egg cream; Hershey’s syrup with a touch of lactic acid. Chocolaty, Belgian dubbel flavor. No European yeast complexity, but a nice, malty experience nonetheless. Hints of dark raisins and lactic acidity. Full-bodied and lightly oily with medium carbonation. Gently bitter, mineral, dry finish. Bottle provided by growler. Thanks Scott!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Vermont Brewers Fest ’07. Deep amber brown beer. Aroma is lightly spicy with soft clove and a rich caramelly sweetness. Toasted malts, molasses and plummy special B sweetness as well. Fruity malts, licorice, molasses and softly toasted graininess. Peppery spice toward the back with the ethanol popping up a bit. A light rummy character that I quite enjoy. Once the ethanol settles down a bit, it will be even better.
