This German-style Wheat Ale uses a German yeast strain, which produces a unique blend of banana, clove and vanilla. El Jefe is unfiltered and highly carbonated making it extremely refreshing. Great with any meal.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a hazy light yellow color with a white head and a tiny bit of lacing as it moves down the glass. Nose brings some banana and light citrus as well as a tiny bit of clove spice. Taste is really quite light with a bit of wheat and banana. Light feel with good carbonation levels. Drinks quite well as there is nothing offensive and it goes down smoothly. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 10-24-2010

On tap at brewhouse. Just not good. A nasty cloudy color, and a gross yeastiness of the flavor. Not my style of beer, and one of the worst examples of the style I have had to date.

Draft at RB Arlington. Pours a cloudy goldy, slightly pale. Big fluffy head. Nose has phenols, plastic and bananas. Some distant sweetness as well. On taste, the phenols are a bit astringent and lacks the big hefe punch of the greats, though does have a nice full body and some good banana notes. Decent Hefe.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color. Large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet bread, yeast and light citrus. Taste is very bread and spicy. Finishes with strong citrus and tropical fruit notes. Thin-medium bodied.

Very weak, watery heffe. No bie or spice at all even with a lemon to try and pull some flavors out it was bleak and univiting.
