Commercial Description:
Rich gold in color, this medium-bodied American Pale Ale has a bold, citrus hop character and a touch of caramel maltiness. Try it with something spicy!

Location: I venture into the Rock Bottom Bethesda every now and again because it is so close, this is one of their standard offerings, and I’ve had it a few times on tap

Overall Impression: A pretty dull Pale Ale, I mean it isn’t terrible, but it just doesn’t do much for me.

From draught sample at Bethesda. Little bit of light hops aroma. Some fruity character and light malt sweetness. Pale golden amber clear with thin white head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of malt, caramel and some biscuit. Not a lot of sweet taste, though. Pretty good bittering, a bit fruity but mainly a medium bitter finish with light chalky after. Salty.

On draft in Bethesda. Poured a light orange/dark gold, not much head. Good aroma of citrus and flowers; slightly sweet. Flavor was mellow and good. Good balance, not overly hoppy. Flavors of grapefruit, floral and malt.

On tap at the Bethesda location, July 2006. ABV not stated. Slightly hazy dark gold colour. Plenty of grapefruit and some floral touches. Not particularly assertive but a repectable, easy drinking APA.

Draft at the brewery. A bit of a simple pale ale, oily hop resin, pine and light honey or fruit flavors and scents . Reminds me of SNPA at times, though not as sweet and not as tasty. Wet, oily palate, simply made but made well, my only complaint other than it being unexciting is the mild soffy grain flavor noticed at times.

Draught at Brewpub during RBSG DC 06 Weekend Bronze color, thin head, nice lacing. Nose of cascade, light dry malt malt. Earthiness. The flavor is balanced, nice hopping level and a medium body, lingering in the finish. Decent.

tap at brewpub-pours orange with a nice froathy/soapy white head. great lacing down the side of my pint glass thoe whole way. nose is chalk full of cascade goodness-fresh and piney. Flavors are hoppy with a nice sweet pale malt backbone keeping the balance here. finish is piney with grapefruit notes. Very much an SNCA clone, but it works. clean and crisp.

A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet flowery combined with notes of the hops. The flavor is sweet hoppy, combined with a light flowery touch, leading to a dry slightly bitter end. Nice session Pale Ale.
