On tap 4 oz. sampler at Rock Bottom’s Bethesda brewpub. The beer menu lists this as "White Ale," but their website calls it "Belgian White Ale." It appears to be the same beer they called "Witbier." The beer menu lists this at 5.4% ABV and 11 IBUs. Clear yellow with a mild haze, a white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of spice, pepper, coriander, orange peel, yeast and wheat. Taste of coriander, pepper, spice, corn chowder, wheat and caramel. There is something slightly unpleasant about the flavor. Light body and light carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at Rock Bottom in Bethesda, MD. The beer is a very hazy straw yellow with 1/2" head and a healthy amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma offers wheat, spice, banana. The flavor follows suit, with spices and fruit present throughout, particularly coriander and banana. The feel is medium bodied with zesty carbonation. A mild sweetness lingers in the finish. Overall, a decent brew. I would have it again. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 07-09-2011

Served on draft at the brewpub on 6/10/11. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, citrus and faint spice. The taste is citrus, bread, some toastiness, coriander and a bitter finish. Medium bodied.

On draught at the brewpub. Pours a dense yellowish straw color with a lasting ringnof lace and slight fine-bubble head. Slight fruity aroma. Slightly sweet wheaty flavor balance with orange notes and sligh corriander driness. Nice comexity, just a bit on the sweet side for my tastes in Wit (i prefer allagash or Blanche de Chambly).

Tap at Rock Bottom. The pour is a very hazy dirty blonde with a thinner, white head. Nice lacework. Aroma is spicy, white pepper, citrus. On style for witbier. Taste is numbing spices, lemon, white pepper. Palate is soapy dishwater. Pretty poor mouthfeel. Nothing too exciting but correct for style but lacking mouthfeel.

Draft. Hazy amber beer with an off-white head. Citrus, yeast, and wheat aroma. Citrus, yeast, malt and wheat flavor. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Citrus, malt, yeast, and light spice lingers.

Draft at Bethesda location, proper cloudy white/milky appearance. Coriander in the nose is very heavy, more soapy than it needs to be. Orange peel is almost nonexistent, while the yeast and wheat character is more prominent... gritty, chunky wheat but overall the body is quite light. Mild funk to the yeast, somewhat soapy. Overall a fairly typical wit, with the cheese/yeast overdone as well as the coriander, and it could benefit from some light sweetness and maybe even some acidity.
