Commercial Description:
This is a rich, deep brown ale with a roasty character. It is smooth and malty, full-bodied and somewhat sweet. Editor's Note: This beer is one of Rock Bottom's standards and is available at many of their breweries.

Campbell: Murky brown with a quickly evaporating head. Very sweet aroma. Hoppy attack with a subtle malty background. Slightly bitter finish with a tangy leave. Thin... almost watery mouth feel to it.

Growler from the RB Chicago: opaque brown. . . a dark brown waterfall effect as I pour my pint. The brown head settles to a short foam with lots of little holes. Thick, roasted, smokey aroma with plenty of chocolate malt, burnt toast, and nuts. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavours are nice, but particularily complex: burnt malty nuts, thick wheat, and dark chocolate. The lingering bitterness is nicely sweet and coats the burnt flavours that would have remained nicely. Fairly good brew.

This beer is really nutty! Very easy to drink, and it is warm and smooth. I liked it.

Tasted at the Cincinnati location. Dark brown color with a thin light beige head and thin lacing. Light aroma of nuts and malt. Medium-bodied and smooth with a decent roasty/nutty flavor. Very smooth and malty finish. Not bad.

Nutty and malty with some peaty, smoky notes in the first sip. Warms to reveal some nice chocolate tasting rich malts. Decent bitter finish. A real surprise.

The best of the Rock Bottom offerings today at the Chicago location. Pours a dark brown color with a nice red hue. The aroma is strongly malty with nuts, whole grains, chocolate and caramel. A little sweet with nice bitterness in the finish.
