Had it in a shot glass so I think that it was maybe 4 oz at best, the hops were evident though the sample. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

Serving: Draught sample.
Location: Rock Bottom Brewery (Cincinnati)
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Sour? Reminds me of stale hop pellets.
Appearance: Transparent brown color with no head or crown.
Flavor: Rye bread and grassy hops. Dry, spicy rye finish.
Palate: Smooth, medium body.
Overall: Not bad once you get past the aroma. Showcases the rye pretty well, but not very balanced overall. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA

Pours a hazy gold color, about a half inch of loose white foam. No lacing. The beer clears a lot after a short time in the glass. Lightly hoppy aroma.
I expected a brewpub version of Redhook’s Sunrye, but this beer is fuller and hoppier than that. Still pretty light, still pretty quaffable, but better by far than that Sunrye stuff.
Light to medium body, but the spicy hops are prevelant. Some good rye in the initial sip, and definately in the aftertaste. More spicy hops in the aftertaste. Dry finish. Ernest (4483), Boulder, Colorado, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Tasted at the Minneapolis location. Described as "smooth" and "malty" by the bartender, when in fact this beer is neither. Rather it is a well hopped, bitter beer. Dark gold color and pushed with nitro. The head is thick but short and doesn’t last very long. Floral hop aroma. Flavor is ok. Loads of bitter hops. Some bread, and just a little sweet malt. It becomes harsh and hard to drink. Where is the rye? trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2006 Tap at La Jolla. Pours murky yellow with small white head. Aroma is honey and grain. At this point I thought they poured me a wheat beer. Sticky mouthfeel. The taste is sweet vanilla and grass. Very little rye and hops, and it only shows up in the aftertaste. Unimpressive. Moderate sweet with the same graasy rye flavor with a light bitter (Amarillo) hop finish. Drinkable brew. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
