Tap in Milwaukee. Translucent orange with a small, creamy head. Aroma is honey, lemons and a touch of rye. Very subdued. Rye characteristics are most evident in the finish - it’s more of less a heavy heaping of brewers yeast that leads to the rye accents. Grassy, with a vanilla milkshake like smoothness. Very muted and non-aggressive. One for the masses.

16oz draft@Warrenville, IL- A cloudy amber with a decent head and an aroma of hops and citrus with a taste of the same with some rye added in. The hops runs throughout with the rye coming in on the back end. Good brew.

Tap at La Jolla. Pours murky yellow with small white head. Aroma is honey and grain. At this point I thought they poured me a wheat beer. Sticky mouthfeel. The taste is sweet vanilla and grass. Very little rye and hops, and it only shows up in the aftertaste. Unimpressive.

Rye additions to a golden ale. Pours a hazy gold color, about a half inch of loose white foam. No lacing. The beer clears a lot after a short time in the glass. Lightly hoppy aroma. I expected a brewpub version of Redhook’s Sunrye, but this beer is fuller and hoppier than that. Still pretty light, still pretty quaffable, but better by far than that Sunrye stuff. Light to medium body, but the spicy hops are prevelant. Some good rye in the initial sip, and definately in the aftertaste. More spicy hops in the aftertaste. Dry finish.

Neat beer with a little kick of rye at the end,had a orangish hue that was very carbonated. Had it in a shot glass so I think that it was maybe 4 oz at best, the hops were evident though the sample.

Draft. Light amber color. Medium body. Very drinkable, with moderate hops and not overpowering malt. Very different taste than I expected. Travels well in jug.

A left over bottle submitted at the Indiana state fair entered as an American IPA. I didn’t taste any rye and the hops were weak. Possibly the bottle was aged.
