sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2008 On tap at Rock Bottom Chicago (obviously). Pours a cloudy medium gold. Good lacing. Good fresh hop aroma, though not great for draft. Nicely hopped throughout. Nice lingering bitter aftertaste. Full, but not over the top. Solid American IPA, if a bit straight-forward.
sersdf (867), chicago, Illinois, USA May 24, 2008 draft at RB chicago. tall 20oz glass, hazy peach yellow body. smell is pretty much pure simcoe hops, flavor, sadly, was so straight-up-hops that it lacked balance. super dry, zero malt at all. tons of hops, nicely, of course. mangoes? sure, why not. kyzr (962), Belgrade, Montana, USA May 23, 2008 Thick gold pour with nice head. Big hoppy nose of citrus, pineapple and mango. Flavor was all simcoe up front with enough malt to make it work. I really enjoyed it all the fruit that came through in the taste. I made a second trip here just for another one. brewandbbq (226), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA May 20, 2008 Pours cloudy golden with a half-inch head of medium duration. Moderate lacework followed.
Aromatics are an almost pungent blend of grapefruit, cracked garlic, cut grass, and orange pith.
Medium bodied and crisp. Bone dry and quenching.
Light malt and heavy-handed hopping lead off the pallet. Loads of drying grapefruit zest, pine dew, orange oil, and an almost lemony zip.
Finishes with a firm, drying bitterness, lingering citrus, and mild alcohol.
What a great beer for a Rock Bottom to put out. Now I know why people speak so highly of the Chicago location. Only $9.00 for the growler, including the glass!

Nice thick murky orange pour. Smell is big peaches and candy but not overdone. It has a nice hop presence in the flavor that is appreciated. Palate is good. My favorite brew I have tried at Rock Bottom, without a doubt.
