Pour is slightly hazed amber with a thin shite head...smell is fruity and very sweet...the taste is sweet and perfumey...light notes of caramel, no real hop or rye character...sticky sweet cloying finish...

pours cloudy apricot, bubbles around the rim. nice lacing. aroma of grapefruit and creamy caramel. flavor is peppery, grapefruity, slightly perfumey. finish is a bit bubbly and bitter. a good beer. not great, but solid.

Goblet at RB - Chicago. Poured translucent medium orange with a light dusting of white head.. sticky lacing as it descended. The aroma had a spiced-up blast of sweet oranges and pale malts upfront (orange zest and cat pee accents).. after the initial impression, the hops really take over.. odd, but aiight. The flavor had a dry middle of pale and lighter fruity malts.. very hoppy surroundings with oranges and perfumey notes paired with peppery yeast spiciness.. strange blend of distinctly Belgian yeast and very American hops.. long, spicy and bitter finish. Thick on the front of the palate with lower carbonation.. heavy middle with more bitterness and spices on the finish. This wasn’t bad, but it didn’t do it for me.

Wow. This is one smooth brew w/ a huge hop presence. The most drinkable, hoppy brew to date. Like a cream ale and a IIPA combo.

Draught. Okay, here we go: an IPA made with a significant amount of rye and a Belgian yeast. I’m not sure what to expect. I receive a cloudy, light copper beer with a sizable off-white head. Grapefruit is strong in the aroma along with plenty of yeasty qualities like banana, clove. The palate is sticky in a very good way. I was actually expecting something a little hoppier, but this definitely has assertive grapefruit/various citrus character that highlights the sweet banana and spiced notes. The whole thing comes together with a pleasantly mild tart, bready note. This is a very unique beer and very well done. The balance and depth are commendable

On tap at Map Room, Chicago. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The rye dries out the finish-- but not too much to make it wispy on the tongue (if that makes sense). I think the rye is a little more pronounced than compated to something like Two Brothers Cain & Ebel. But nice body, nice flavor-- a very good session beer. Congrats to Map Room for throwing a good local beer on tap.

On cask at Night of the Living Ales IV. THe name read Siegle d’Houblon de Moineur Belgian Rye-P.A. Pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Nose is yeast, oranges, caramels, belgain candy sugars and spice. Creamy smooth body. Lemons, oranges, yeast, and toffee which are sweet but balanced with spice and tartness. This one is really tasty.

I enjoyed this beer, on tap at Rock Bottom in Chicago. Not super hoppy but had an interesting taste. The rye gave the beer a little dryess, which was a little different and enjoyable.
