hopson (469), Williamsville, New York, USA Aug 1, 2008 tap- chicago- could have easily skipped this one. very boring, very adjuncty. Wanted to move on the instant I tasted this in the sampler. holdenn (1138), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 31, 2008 On tap at RB Chicago. Pours a hazed copper yellow with a white head. Nose that has strong notes of floral and herbal hops with some cereal grains with tangerine and bubblegum notes. Earthy grains and malts with herbal and grassy hops. At first sip I wasn’t into this too much, as I went on, it became interesting and delicious. The slightly spicy and herbal earthiness of the hops work so well. Lightly bitter and really drinkable. douglas88 (705), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jul 25, 2008 On tap at the brewpub in Chicago. Pours a hazy golden body with a medium white head. The aroma was mostly rich malts and some floral hops. The taste was very easygoing; I could drink a ton of this, sweet maltness and some light hops. Not really bitter or too sweet, just kinda neutral. Nice. drewbeerme (1782), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2008 Updated: Jul 25, 2008on tap at RB Chicago. so this is supposed to be an unfiltered, hopped up blonde ale. and it is! pours hazy golden with white head. nicely hopped with saaz and a mostly noble hop character. i’ll take notes next time as with the pils on I had to go for that over this but this was one hoppy blonde and one of the best i’ve had.3.6.
a few mugs of this and I was a very happy camper. really wonderful, spicy, leathery, and citrus hop notes, unfiltered, hoppy, and extremely fresh brew. it actually reminded me of a Paul Launer beer from their brewpub in Munich where they served a zwickel straight from the fermentor. although this is quite a bit hoppier. this tastes like no RB Chicago brew I’ve had before.
