2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hopson (635) - Williamsville, New York, USA - AUG 1, 2008

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 douglas88 (4598) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - JUL 25, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 28, 2008 On tap at the brewpub in downtown Chicago. Pours a light amber color with a thin white head. The aroma is caramel and malty. The taste was quite hoppy for an amber ale, some caramel malts and a smooth clear finish. Some banana notes also. A nice example of the style.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kyzr (1140) - Belgrade, Montana, USA - MAY 23, 2008
Copper pour with smaller white head. Hints of caramel on the nose with minor hops. Flavor was sweet malty with a touch of roast. Finish has a bitter bite, with a creamy mouthfeel.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Glouglouburp (5619) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 21, 2008
In short: A basic but drinkable light caramelized slightly fruity ale. Well brewed entry level beer
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear copper body with topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: Soft caramelized malted body. Smooth carbonation. Light fruity notes with some citrus, some kiwis and some grapefruits. Leafy hops dry out the finish but that finish is
very short finish. Drinkable, smooth, light and not offensive. If the real Erik the Red had that much character he would have been a fisherman.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hopscotch (8250) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 21, 2008
Draft… DLD’08… Clear copper ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Decent retention. The aroma is all about caramel… period. Medium-bodied and watery with soft carbonation. Leans only a smidge on the bitter side of balance… caramel sweetness and tannic/citrus bitterness. Malty, well-balanced finish.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 shendrix (478) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2008
The nose is coppery, and the palate is toast and grassy hops. Not bad--but not really good either. Try again Pete.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 pintsize (1042) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 4, 2008
4-23-08 tap
Clear red with itty bitty head. Smell is that of sweet nothing. Flavor is a hint better than some of the other brews here but still is watery as hell.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 lb4lb (2050) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 28, 2008
Pours clearish red color with just a tiny head. Smell is sweet and toasty caramel. Taste is less sweet than hoppy. Finishes a bit thin as far as body and flavor both, but what is there is still nice and enjoyable. Decent, drinkable amber.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chicagodri (1683) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 28, 2008
Pours a clear ruby/amber color with a thin head. Aroma is of sweet malt. The flavor is mostly sweet malt and not anywhere near the amount of hops as in the description. I thought it was a little thin and bland for a Rock Bottom Chicago beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 23, 2008
