chicagodri (539), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 28, 2008 Pours a clear ruby/amber color with a thin head. Aroma is of sweet malt. The flavor is mostly sweet malt and not anywhere near the amount of hops as in the description. I thought it was a little thin and bland for a Rock Bottom Chicago beer.
SQNfan (474), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Sep 7, 2008 Hoppy with roasted malt with a bitter finish. There wasn’t much memorable about this one and probably my least favorite of the day (Hefe, Saison, Redline Imp Stout, Dry-hopped Oatmeal stout, Bourbon Barrel Barleywine(YUM)) WickerBrew (278), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 18, 2008 A dark smmoth red, from what I remember its close to the Yorktown version - maybe a little smoother and creamier but it all balances out to similar scores. It does lose a point for coming in a plastic cup. The resturant has a great rooftop deck, but what makes glass unusable is beyond me. Too nice a place for plastic. hopson (498), Williamsville, New York, USA Aug 1, 2008 tap at chicago- where are the hops I was promised. a strange roasted peat malt thing going on that I did not enjoy. the description of this beer does not capture it at all. douglas88 (808), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jul 25, 2008 Updated: Jul 28, 2008On tap at the brewpub in downtown Chicago. Pours a light amber color with a thin white head. The aroma is caramel and malty. The taste was quite hoppy for an amber ale, some caramel malts and a smooth clear finish. Some banana notes also. A nice example of the style. kyzr (959), Belgrade, Montana, USA May 23, 2008 Copper pour with smaller white head. Hints of caramel on the nose with minor hops. Flavor was sweet malty with a touch of roast. Finish has a bitter bite, with a creamy mouthfeel.
