3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampler at the brewpub. Definitely no butter in this batch. Pale gold to dark hay color. Aroma is muted hops, a mix bag, a little bit of this and that but nothing in particular stands out. Malt is a bit dusty. Flavor is similar with a moderate-mild bitterness coming through. Finish comes fast and easy. This is a decent Golden/APA hybrid (frankly, if I were to reenter this beer I would put it in as an APA). I just wish the hops were more directive.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Quick stop in while doing some Christmas shopping. Pours a clear yellow harvest hue, firmer glow, lively carbonation and a brighter white head that dies to a smaller white layer, sticks around small and laces in the same capacity. Aromas are earthy, dry, and grainy. Some touches of straw meet bread, cereal grains and straw. Gentle earthy hops, some touches of grass, graininess. Simple, clean, mellow hop character lurks a bit. Initial is lighter bodied showing some mellow grainy malt character, cleaner lighter body meets up with a decent earthy hopping, grassy with some floral pokes, faint lemon rind at times. Bready malts, cereal elements, straw, and a bit of floor malts, faint fruitiness hits into the middle. The backend is dry, a bit fruity and hoppy as we start to trail out. Simple Golden Session ale offering some decent hop character for what it is. Serviceable.

Buttery yet unthreatening brew. IT is golden and carries some malt and hops but is primarily butter.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at RB...This pours a super dark gold straw but its still very clear...The head is totally dead, nothing at all there...The taste is also super light, can’t taste anything but light skunk. Its not bad per se just boring, why drink this?
Overall, an easy session beer but nothing special.

Part of a sampler at the brewpub. Clear golden, minimal white head. Sweaty peachy aroma, light caramel. Same stonefruit flavours on the palate, slightly floral, low bitterness. Pleasant enough session ale.

Decided to try the Cask version of this. They said it was dry hopped. Very smooth. Not a lot excitement. Serving: Cask

(the non cask-treated version)
She poured rich shades of gold and straw, a sight for sore eyes indeed. Orange shimmers about as the light pokes through crystal clear depths resting under a full white head. Ironically, the head is thicker in the middle than around the sides of the glass. Dipping my nose into the white fluff, I wallow in sweet rolls, Hawaiian rolls, green grass, and lemon pith. A very soft nose, there is a pervasive sense of dampness in the air, almost as if I am surrounded by the dew of early morning. Still mild, though a far cry better than the Line Drive Light, I discover an equally soft and smooth mouthfeel. Honey sweetness flitters in and out of my line of taste while holding steady in the middle are Hawaiian rolls, sweet rolls, and white bread. A quick kiss of bitterness in the back disappears just as fast, leaving behind whispers of green grass and lemon pith. There is little else to discover as I work my way to the bottom of my tasting glass.
Meh. The wonderfully soft mouthfeel impressed me the most, lifting the Chicago Gold a wee bit higher on the tasting scale than she would have been without.
