First at 3rd Annual FoBAB, updated with a snifter at the brewpub. Big, beautiful, black pour with an initial deep mocha head... dropped to a light ring rather quickly. Mahogany highlights around the edges. Intense, very deep roasted chocolate, cherries, sweet bourbon, and dark fruit provided a magnificent nose. Chewy dark chocolates, roasted Columbian coffee, espresso, exceptionally well-integrated bourbon, and light tobacco were brilliantly matched for the flavor. Brilliant mouthfeel! Rich, roasty, and full... slick yet thoroughly coating of the palate. Long, roasty bourbon chocolate finish. This was phenominal!

Dark brown black pour with a tan head. Smell is sweet malt and fruit and maybe some chocolate. Raspberries are present in taste. Big bold flavor of bourbon and malt. Very thick and creamy and enjoyable. Creamy and yummy!

Apr 28, 2008 Pours black with a coffee brown head. Smell is strong and smooth bourbon, then roasty dark malt and then raspberry like red fruitiness. Server mentioned Raspberries being in this, so I’m not sure if this is the correct entry...
Taste was strongly of bourbon, and dark roasty flavor behind that, followed by fresh raspberry flavor mingling well. Prickly, yet light carbonation. Perhaps a hint too bourbony, but still my favorite beer of theirs.

Apr 17, 2008 Dark brown, almost black, with a small tan head. Bourbon prevails in the nose and flavor with backup from some chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and roasted malts. The Bourbon was up front but not overpowering. But, if you don’t like Bourbon, pass on this one. Otherwise, excellent.

Apr 7, 2008 On tap @Rock Bottom. Dense Black, no head, served in a sniffer. Lots of Bourbon aroma, some clocolate there too. Flavors of Roastiness, coffee, chocolate, bourbon of course, and alcohol. Strong drink. Enjoyable, but just one.

Mar 8, 2008 Draft @ the bp. Served @ the perfect temp. This is the best brewpub in Chi-town and they consistenly brew the best beers. This is one of them. Bourbon nose w/ light choc, imp stout flavors w/ bourbon throughout. Excellent.
