COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Assistant Brewmaster Bryan Shimkos’ first seasonal brew of the year is a super-hoppy and slightly malty I.P.A. Dry-hopped with over 30 pounds of Amarillo and Centennial hops, this hop bomb has aromas of mango, orange, lemon, and fresh-cut grass.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/20/07: Pours a transparent orange bronze with a well-lacing wispy white froth of head. Aroma of fresh citrusy grapefruity hops and mild caramel. Starts with a light crystal malty sweetness and good fresh bittering and flavor hoppy balance. A nice IPA.

Your basic brewpub chain IPA: plenty of hops, very drinkable, goes with a burger. It doesn’t amaze, but it’s not bad.

Rating #1044, Special thanks to Cornfield for bringing this growler to the Chicago Area May Gathering held in Champaign (Road Trip). Drank at Radio Maria. Hazy golden copper with a medium sized off white creamy head that is quickly discipating. Nose is fruity with ome alcohol and somewhat estery kind of like fruit loops. Taste is loaded with pine, sap and grains. More piney and cleaner. Very good stuff.

This has a cloudy amber/orange body with a decent beige head. This has a tropical fruit aroma along with some hits of grapefruit and grass. There’s a soft caramel sweetness at the base, but it’s full of a fruity, hoppy bitterness. The only flaw that I’m finding is that the bitterness seems to end too quickly in the finish. Otherwise a dandy drink.

One-finger tan head, cloudy bronze-pumpkin color. Sweet, fruity/cat urine/pine/grapefruit/pineapple aroma. Candied orange grapefruit flavor, pretty sweet, medium-heavy hops (for the style.) Finishes strongly in the back palate. Burps pinecones. Good. Second Winston trip.

Draught at the brewpub. Poured a very cloudy orange with one finger of ivory head and good lacing. The aroma is sticky grapefruit, sugar, and some pine. The flavor is lots of grapefruit, some grass, light caramel, and bready tones throughout. It finishes with fruity hops and some alcohol. Pretty tasty.

According to beer nerd Shawn (smhncabot), it is too watery. I guess that was the element that I missed in the beer. Otherwise, a good beer. Nice aroma, but the finish and the body are lacking. Just not a complete IPA.

Poured hazy medium golden with a short cap of creamy off-white head. Lots of pineapple and interesting spices in the aroma.. some sweet toffee sugars beneath.. floral shows as it warms up.. nice. The flavor had a great blend of pineapple and floral hoppage paired with dry English toffee sweetness… lots of enjoyable lingering bitterness along with toffee at the finish. Medium-bodied with med-high bitterness at the edges and at the dry and refreshing finish. Good stuff!
