DSG (1020), Yuvalim, Israel Oct 18, 2008 (10/9/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Chicago. Cloudy yellow. Aroma is fruity, with some banana, light spiciness and bubblegum notes. Sweetish wheaty flavor with a bit of yeast, some spiciness and light, slightly unpleasant, sourness. Rather light-bodied.

A very mild weizen with tart sourdough notes.

I like:
Soft wheatiness. Appealing banana notes. Still refreshing.

I dislike:
Totally clear… Relying heavily on the breadiness and paired with the sourness, it’s less than more pleasant to me. Bubblegum notes feel out of place among the total cleanliness.
GeneralGao (2726), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Oct 4, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a hazy yellow-orange color. The head was white and left some lace behind on the glass. Fairly typical hefe nose including the likes of banana, clove, and a splash of lemon. There was more banana than clove. Light to medium bodied with some delicate sweetness up front. Clove and banana were fairly evenly matched in the flavor and were accompanied by subdued citrus and caramel notes. Pretty standard and good. 17thfloor (870), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 17, 2008 [On tap at Pub] Pours a hazy orange with little head. Big clove and coriander aroma, spicy and sweet. Flavor is sweet, light orange and coriander. Dry short finish. Crisp carbonation but watery mouthful . A well made beer but very generic hefe. SQNfan (575), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Sep 7, 2008 On tap at the brewpub: An average hefe with the banana and clove noticable but lacking depth especailly in the mouth.
