garrison (433), Cin. city, Ohio, USA Sep 23, 2007 From a draft mug at the brewpub in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio - This one pours a black stout with a tall, fine tan head of foam and a cocoa-coffee-malt aroma. Tastewise, it’s the best of the Rockbottom beers I’ve had, and a fine representation of a dweet, mild stout. awaller05 (297), Marengo, Illinois, USA Apr 15, 2007 Cask in Cincinnati, Black pour with great foamy whiite head that the bartender worked to diminish to a manageble level( The Barmaid was cute, but I was with my little lady so I tried not to be obvious while checking her out. )Great chocalaty taste with a cream finish. Awesome beer, awesome bar, and awesome looking barmaid. illinismitty (1456), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Mar 8, 2007 Cask at Cincinnati with Shigadeyo. Pours black with a dense, textured foamy head. Nice retentions and lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate and malt. Soft carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is milky with notes of vanilla and chocolate. Mild bitterness and a semi dry finish. I can’t even remember the last time I had a Milk Stout this good. shigadeyo (1399), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Mar 6, 2007 3/06/2007 at Rock Bottom Cincinnati with illinismitty. CASK (draught)... Black pour with a large, dense, foamy, rocky, tan head. Excellent head retention (it had a nice head from the initial pour to the last sip!). The aroma was mostly vanilla and milk chocolate. The flavor was milk chocolate with some vanilla, roasted malt, and coffee notes from time to time. I also picked up some oak/woody characteristics in the sip or two. The finish is a bit more dry with some roasty characteristics. This beer has a medium body and is smooth and milky on the palate. A near perfect example of what a Milk Stout should be...
strangaj (215), West Chester, Ohio, USA Feb 16, 2007 This was the best beer I’ve tasted from this micro-brew (that’s not saying much). Had a chocolate and mocha flavor that was well balanced and left a bit of roast on the palate for an aftertaste, but was not offensive. Considerably light considering the style and flavoring. Overall though, nothing to write home about.
