3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the location by Park Meadows. Poured an amber-orange color with a moderate off-white head that faded to a thin layer and left some spotty lacing. Leafy, dank, earthy aroma with some light pine accompanied by a soft citrus fruitiness (grapefruit, orange). Smooth, moderately sweet entry with some soft caramel quickly transitions into a bitter, leafy, earthy hoppiness with a nice resinous quality that takes center stage with a nice complementing fruitiness (the same grapefruit and orange present in the nose) that linger into the dry, moderately bitter finish. Moderate carbonation and a nice biting dryness that invited you to drink more. Overall, it certainly wasnít overly complex but the freshness and nice hop intensity without being 10% made it a nice drinker.

Aroma - floral, hint of sweetness, subtle spice;
Appearance - very deep copper, fluffy head, excellent lacing;
Taste - fruity front, complex hop back, apple, citrus, finish has a light tang;
Palate - mild crispness, good body;
Overall - unique brew, great on most fronts yet it seems like something is missing, still quite nice and enjoyable on a cold evening.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml corked and caged bottle purchased to-go from the downtown location - pours a hazy amber, with a thick, well-sustained head - a lot of pine and grapefruit in the nose, with substantial caramel character, some cherry, strawberry - very low carbonation despite the foamy head (almost feels like cask ale in the mouth) - seems on the higher end abv-wise for a "regular" ipa (Iím guessing around 7 or 7.5%) - tastes a little bit aged/oxidized - earth hop character is present, but starting to fade with age - fairly malty, with some orange and mango accenting the sweetness - finishes spicy, with light lingering sweetness - I kinda like this - I wonder what itís like fresh. (note - Iíve consumed about half the bottle at this point, and judging by the way I feel, this beer might be higher than 7.5)
