Couleur noire foncée, mousse brune pale abondante et veloutée et adhérant à la paroi du verre, grandement aidé par le service à l’azote. Arômes de malt grillé et de chocolat. Draft pour at Denver location. Pours darkest brown with a lingering khaki head. Smells of malt, licorice, faint chocolate. Taste is a blend of roasty and milk chocolate with a long, soft bitter finish. Slick mouthfeel. Solid porter.

Sample at the "Portland? Psh More Like Beerland" tasting on 03/10/10. The beer pours a clear orange-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Dark chocolate aroma with roasted malt notes. Medium, smooth body with flavors of mild coffee, chocolate and malt. The finish is chocolatey with a cocoa aftertaste. Decent overall.

this was listed as "purple porter on the board of the denver location. didn’t want to add a new beer without more info so i’m sticking it here for now.
dark body with a tan head. smells of coffee & slick chocolate, not cocoa. caramel shines through nicely. this is the kind of porter i like, lots of chocolate crammed into this, but it is tempered with a wood like bitterness that keeps it normal. the flavors meld in a way that i am in awe of. a nice porter a bit drier on the finish than i expected, but still nice.

A sweet little nutty vanilla oil nose. Roasty chocolate and coffee flavors wash over the palate, with some smooth drying acidity in the finish. Decent.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Liquorice, dark roasty malts and cocoa like chocolate greet the nose. Opaque brown body with ruby highlights is topped by a dense, fine bubbled, tan head that recedes to lasting cover with some lace. Flavour strongly features chocolate and roasted malts with moderate bitterness but nice balance with the sweet cocoa flavour. Medium light body is fairly dry with decent carbonation and a smooth texture. Sampled on tap at Rock Bottom Denver with Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.
