COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a rustic Brazilian inspired style that celebrates spring – the seasons are reversed. Dry malt flavors and a slight citric tang of wheat; hops are generous enough to balance and lend some definite citrus notes. Oranges were added to the mash and vanilla to the grant and final beer to provide complexity.*Saudade describes a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. It often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing will never return.

Made with French Pale, light carstan & white wheat malts;Oranges, vanilla & cane sugar. Hops are Centennial, Ahtanum & Moteuka. Fermented with French Farmhouse yeast.

[On-tap at Rock Bottom] I originally wasn’t going to rate this beer, because I just got a sampler of it, but it is so strange that I feel compelled to. Hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is absolutely huge on vanilla, with orange, a sweet herbal component, and light spiciness cutting through. Orange cream soda. Moderate bitterness in the taste, bursting with orange, and strong vanilla again. Fairly thin, but had a long finish. Wow, what a bizarre beer. Rating this is very difficult, because it was really unique and I was able to finish the sampler without any problems, but an entire glass would have been a definite drain pour.

Parkville Fest 2013. This was a very nice change of pace at a beerfest. This was also the beer with which I rested for a little while. Golden colored beer. Aroma takes me by surprise with a cascade of different spices. Mostly, I would describe it as orange-leaf. A doughy yeast centric beer underneath the spices. Flavor is yeasty doughy with the spices providing a nicely refreshing finish. Despite being a bigger beer its pretty light and refreshing. Very cool.
