Commercial Description:
Rich and red, you'll love it! We do! Beautiful ruby red color with a rich malty body and an assertive tangy nose. We use only imported malts to create this unique red ale. Editor's Note: This is a Rock Bottom standard brew and is found in several locations, especially in the Midwest.

Draft. Sweet and malty -- not complicated but enjoyable. Beautiful red color with low lacing. Some hops round out the finish.

Sampled on tap at RB Chicago. Amber in color, decent head. Same aroma as the other standard RB beers, once again not smelling that fresh. Malty flavors, nothing standing out, but not bad, finish is a little hoppy and dry. .... Is this an Ale or a Lager? One of those is wrong.

Very nice color. Nice finish! Very hoppy. Definitely can detect different fruity flavors. Pretty good overall! On tap at RB December 06

On tap at RB Chicago. Red colour with an off white head. Nose and initial flavour come up empty, but a nice floral and fruity hoppy finish. Light bodied, dries out in the finish.

RB in Chicago...deep red....spicy hop aroma but did not overpower malt, Fair roast malt flavor lightly carbonated for and american darks that I have had. No burnt flavors from wrong type of malts made this pleasing. Slight acceptable fruitiness helped the balance. Good!

On tap at RB Chicago, August 2006. Pours clear light reddish brown with a white head. Caramel and piney hops in the nose. Flavor has notes of kilned caramel malts and toffee intertwined with a solid dose of piney, resiny grapefruity hops. Bitter finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Not bad.

On tap at chicago. Served in a plastic cup on the rooftop so I went into the bar to have a real glass. A decent sesion beer with a grapefruit flavor and bitter finish.

Draught during my Great Lakes region brew tour. This beer has a clean, translucent amber body with a white head. Notes of biscuits and grapefruit are in the nose. This is kind of thin. More biscuits, grapefruit, some caramel, and grass are in the flavor. It’s a little awkward in balance. Good session brew, nothing else.
