hopdog (4524), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 7, 2005 On tap at the KoP location. Hand pump/cask conditioned. Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of bourbon, some chocolate and roasted malts. Light vanilla in the tastes. The non barrel aged version was better. PWalk (332), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 6, 2005 KOP near Philly: Watery and bland. It seemed all the time in the barrel robbed this beer of any semblance of flavor. Decent lacing though. footbalm (1210), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Mar 3, 2005 hand bottled from zathrus13.Thanks Jeff. This is a really dark brew,no head at all.Nose is some oak, vanilla and bourbon. It is thin onthe tongue but the flavors of the Imp. Stout are not over powered by the Bourbon. Not a bad brew.
egajdzis (2947), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 25, 2005 Cask... Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, light chocolate and roast. Watery chocolate roast taste, hot bourbon alcohol finish. Thin mouthfeel, barrel aging gone wrong. zathrus13 (1058), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA Feb 24, 2005 Updated: Mar 13, 2005On tap, and available in growlers. Pours dark brown/black, with a small, tan/brown head. Aroma is bourbon, malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, with bourbon out front. Very little carbonation. The body is on the light side, especially for an Imperial Stout. This is one of the better beers I’ve had at Rock Bottom, but I wish they’d go the extra step with their cask conditioned beers.
