Bartender calls it a red IPA which is a pretty good descriptor. Pour is rich red with tan head and lots of lace. Nose is stinky pine tree west coast hops. Gumball finish but clear. Very nice ipa at 7.5 abv.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub off La Jolla Village Dr. Clear golden color, good carbonation and fluffy white head. Nose is crisp and clean with grassy hops and citrus. Flavor leans a bit malty, with a quick transition to bitterness that fades quickly. Fairly balanced overall, pretty much your standard West Coast IPA from an average chain brewpub.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden orange with a small off white ring. Nice nose of citrus hops and faint caramel malt. Flavor was very citrusy with a nice hop bitterness on the finish, a pretty damn good IPA.

Growler from La Jolla; abv 6.8. A reddish[amber with a big, creamy, off white head. Aroma was nice; citrus, floral and grapefruit. Flavor did not match the aroma in terms of quality, but it was still pretty tasty and drinkable. Palate was borderline watery and the malty, caramel, somewhat fruity, backbone wasn’t as strong for me as it has been for others, but it definitely wasn’t weak. Finish was not extremely bitter, but it packed a nice little punch. Earthy, piney and citrus. Pretty good overall and for the style..

Amber-brown color, lush grassy hop aroma. Nice round hop profile, but what stood out was the intense maltiness just under the surface. This has to be the maltiest IPA Iíve ever had!
