detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2007 Pours (aggressively from the growler) an orange gold, topped by a good inch of whitish foam. Decent head retention and nice thick lacing. Mildly fruity aroma with some hops.
Lightly sweet malt presence, with a hair of malt, a touch of fruit, a pinch of hop tanginess, a suggestion of peppery spice. Light body, light carbonation. A caramel malt lingers in the aftertaste. Pigfoot (2224), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jun 28, 2006 Hazy amber/bronze, beneath a slim, if firm layer of off-white foam.
Aroma is lightly sweet and citrusy, plenty orange, delightfully floral, the tiniest bit bitter, but hops are chiefly in play here.
Taste: Bitter and sweet at once, in the mouth, creamy, fruity, delicious. Doesn’t make too bold a statement on the palate, but neither should it. Apple peels and sweet apricot slices join the citric dance on the tongue, then gently slide off, leaving only tasty, tastiness.
Medium bodied, lightish finish, persistent flavor, highly pleasurable. A handy ale, well worth the drinking.
hellomynameis (743), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Mar 28, 2006 This is a pretty straight orange colour, obviously unfiltered. This came from a growler and poured with a fairly tall rocky head that soon disapeared and left a tiny ring around the glass. A wet aroma with almost no hints of hops, apricot as badgerben said is in there too. It was a bit thin with a pretty acceptable amount of carbonation. A slight, light fruit taste begins this, being rounded out by an unremarkable middle and a clean finish of what is apparently fuggles hops. I’m begining to enjoy bitters and think this is only a bit better than average in the grand scheme of things. badgerben (3040), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Mar 3, 2006 Hazy orange color with a medium head that quickly fades away to a thin whisp. Aroma is hard to pick up, but what I found was like a little (very little) apricot. Dry and grainy with lots of Fuggles. It was way too cold to start with, but after warming up that apricot came out a little. Not bad for a standard bitter.
