Cask at Rock Bottom Brewery in Minneapolis. Pours black with creamy tan head. Aromas are coconut, tropical fruit, and bubblegum. Smooth and rich mouthfeel thanks to the cask. Flavours are coconut, sweet bubblegum balanced nicely by roasted malts. Awesome.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle through trade thanks to Matt. Pour has a dark earthy brown color bordering on black with a thin covering of tan head. Aroma has hefty spices, coconut, light chocolate, and some roasted malt. Mouth feel is light for a stout but there is some texture perhaps from the oats. Flavor again has the spices at the forefront, coconut water, oats, chocolate, pops of ginger, and roasted malt. Oats and coconut seem to be getting along nicely and there is a bit of sweetness that brings it together. The concoction itself surprisingly works and even with the spices being prominent there is plenty going on behind the scenes making this interesting to drink. I went into this beer with no idea what "chai" is but after some Wikipedia reading...lol...I see this beer is true to many aspects of the tea, spice, milk, uses of the word. Who knew that beer rating would make one smarter and more knowledgeable? I also think going forward I will keep with the use of capitals at the beginning of sentences instead of being lazy in my rates. Hell, I hope the first thousand plus rates without capitals don’t start to bother me know.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml. Pours a dark black with a slightly brown head. Looks a little thin and not very viscus coming out of the bottle. A really intriguing aroma of just a ton of chai spice and a little bit of chocolate nestling in behind it. The mouthfeel is a little creamier than expected based on the appearance. Notes of chai dominate everything with some dry bittersweet chocolate and lactic presence, with just a hint (not much really) of the coconut. Despite not a big coconut presence, I really enjoy this. This strange conglomeration of flavors actually work.

On draft at Rock Bottom Minneapolis. Black pour with large tan head. The aroma is overwhelmingly chai tea. It smelled a little awkward, but it consisted of awesome sweet coconut and chai. Very smooth and creamy, this beer is super delicious. delicious. I was pretty impressed with this beer
