Dogbrick (2260), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 13, 2008 Sample at the MSP location. Pours a mostly clear dark red color with a minimal light beige head that disappears almost immediately. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is malty with touches of caramel and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of sweet malt and toffee along with some hops. The finish is sweet with a lingering malt aftertaste. Average overall.
TomDecapolis (2474), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 3, 2008 On tap at the Minneapolis location. Pours a translucent deep copper/amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, toffee, nuts and light citrus notes. Flavor was much of the same with the toasted malt, light citrus notes, toffee and nuts. Naka (423), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 28, 2008 On draft at Minneapolis airport. A deep amber color with a good nose of caramel malts and just a touch of hops. A really good balanced flavor. I got some of the flowery hop flavor, but not much of the bitterness. Has an average palate for the style. BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 4, 2007 Draft @ Minneapolis Brewpub: Ruby, light head and lacing. Nose of light hops and stale caramel, some cinnamon and brown sugar, chocolate chips, like a chewy bar. The flavor is bland, sharp bitterness, unbalanced. Finishes light, medium body. decaturstevo (1271), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 1, 2007 RBSG07 at pub. A cleana clear amber pour with almost no head or lace. Not much on the nose at all. All the flavor comes from the malt it has a hint of bitter. The beer is pretty close to where it should be. Not much carbonation and pretty thin too. A pretty good VL that would work well as a thirst quincher an easy drinker indeed.
