3 3 3 3 9 cbkschubert (1520), Skyline, Arizona, USA Oct 8, 2007 On tap @ La Jolla location - Pours a dark brown color with a thin light tan head. Thin lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and light coffee. Flavor is big roasted malt, coffee, and light chocolate. Light to medium body. A good Porter. BückDich (4497), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 23, 2006 Nitro at Rock Bottom in La Jolla, CA: Black color. Nose is floral, like rose water, bubble gum, subtle raw coffee bean and vanilla. The flavor’s full of light chocolate and a bit of charcoal. Finishes dry; the nitro pulled out the body but it still works. Foolish_Mortal (932), San Diego, California, USA Mar 12, 2006 Draft. Opaque black with a thick light brown nitro head. Roast malt astringency and some coffee aromatics. Nitrogen dulled chocolate and coffee grounds. Fades to some roast in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium, very smooth. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 20, 2006 Milwaukee. Deep translucency and midnight brown in color with a tan, creamy thin sheaf and creamy tan wrung for the head. Milky espresso comes forth in the aroma, adjoined with dark chocolate fudge, chocolate bran flakes and a Wonderbread component. Slightly astringent as the tongue gets a crack at it, but it then converts to a mellowed syrup profile. A Hershey syrup sense counterbalances mildly bitter intonations in the background. Light chocolate powder and chocolate breakfast muffins assume most of the afterlife. Decent, easy and sweet.
