A blend of Belgian-style Tripel, Strong Golden, & Dubbel beers aged in a Woodford Reserve barrel with wild yeast and bacteria. It was then transferred where 1 pound of raspberries per gallon we added and aged for an additional 3 weeks.

sampled at FOBAB 2009... pours a semi-transparent berry red with what looks to like no head... sweet berry nose (notes lacking on this one)... flavors of sweet berry, semi-tart, something in the finish (can’t read my notes). medium carbonation.

FoBAB 2009. This poured a reddish amber body without a head. The aroma was a bit boozey with a fruity tartness to it. The flavor was both interesting and tasty, a raspberry tartness, a bit of funk, dark fruit, vanilla, and oak blended tastefully with Bourbon. It finished on a tart note. I hope that Iain Wilson puts this one on tap at the brewpub soon so I can get a heftier dosage of this brew.

TheAlum (6991) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 9, 2009
Sampled at FoBAB 2009. Pours anice reddish copper, a bit berry influenced. A nice bourbon nose, vanilla, wet wood, a bit tart on the nose. A bit boozy. Initial is lightly tart, raspberries, a bit of boozy bourbon, wet oak, vanilla, and a light fruitiness, maltiness on the palate. Nice fruit element, highly quaffable, and pretty tart overall. Very nice.
